Vending machine accepts donations…and your cup

Tohoku Fukushi University campus in the Miyagi Prefecture is currently installing vending machines that allow the user to donate their change to charity. The drinks machine has two buttons; one for a 10 yen donation and another for 100 yen. These buttons can either be pushed after you make a purchase, taking the donation out of your change, or without buying anything at all if you’re feeling particularly generous. The donations go to the Central Community Chest of Japan.
Another particularly brilliant feature of the machine is its ability to let you use your own cup, therefore reducing the waste of numerous paper cups. Using your own cup entitles you to a 10 yen discount, which I assume you’ll be giving to charity!
