Promotion in Yokohama for new Ikea store
2nd September, 2006 by manda
The 2nd Ikea store in Japan opens 15th September in Yokohama’s Tsuzuki Ward. The first store opened in April in Chiba, which has now attracted more than 2.3 million visitors. Offering 10,000 furniture and home furnishing items, Yokohama’s new four-story store has a floor space of 40,000 square metres. At a shopping mall in Yokohama they’ve started promotion for the store already. A small boy stares in amazement at a Mammut chair, 9 times the size of the ones going on sale. “What size is the owner’s toilet?” he must be thinking. A third store is scheduled for 2008 in Port Island in Kobe, and there are plans to have four to six stores by 2011.
