Fantasy Kids Resort is a place I wish existed when I was a child. I was never allowed to play with the kids toys full of germs in dentist surgeries nor leave my parent’s sight. This resort is every mother and father’s dream! While kids play happily, 16 cameras hang from the ceilings and 20 members of uniformed staff monitor the area. Sand is sterilized, strollers have to be wiped with anti-bacterial soap and all shoes have to be checked into a foot locker. This may sound like security and hygiene gone crazy, but child kidnappings have increased by 25% since 2001 in Japan. Parent’s who want their kids to attend the Fantasy Kids Resort have to fill out an application for an annual membership then present their ID each visit. The resort is situated in Ebina, west of Tokyo. I wish I was 5 again!
