Octopus ball museum attracts worldwide visitors

A museum in Osaka devoted to takoyaki (fried octopus balls) is attracting visitors from all over the world. 69 year old Toshio Yamaoka, who introduced the finest takoyaki frying plates in Japan, opened the museum, and is dedicating his older years to respecting the history of the dish. The museum has 300 items including cookers, street-side stalls, flags, and samples of takoyaki space food for Japanese astronauts. This year celebrates his 50th anniversary of successful cooking plate business; it was once said that every single home in Osaka owned one. After word spread across Japan about his fantastic plates, Yamaoka now plans to let the whole world know - he has already set up takoyaki stalls in Berlin. His museum has attracted 20,000 visitors so far, some of which were from Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and Africa. Entry to the museum is free.
