Female guide robot from Sanrio

Actoid DER is a scarily realistic female robot, produced by Kokoro, (part of the Sanrio Group). Unfortunately, Actoid has recently been pushed to the side, as the upgraded version, Actoid DER2, was unveiled this week. These robots dedicate their time to acting as guides for companies at large public events- just like the 2005 World Expo that they helped out with last year. Actoid DER2 has smoother programmable movements and better facial expressions than its predecessor. In addition to this, she also has thinner arms, which must help something I’m sure. A basic rental fee is 400,000 yen ($3400/£813) for 5 days.
