HAL exoskeleton power suit

The big-brained boffins at Tsukuba University have developed the Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) - an exoskeleton designed to be worn by a real live human being, in order to increase their strength to 10 times their original ability. Head boffin Yoshiyuki Sankai was overheard saying “It depends on his original power, because this robot suit is controlled by the assist ratio…Usually we set it at 50% or 60% or 70%. If he is a very weak person we set the assist ratio at 90%, so at that time you say 10 times.” The suit works by figuring out what the wearer is telling their muscles to do. It then joins in the fun.

I need one of these at work. Printers are heavy…I still don’t know why we store them on the top of the shelf.
