Japanese shoppers receive an estimated 30 billion plastic shopping bags each year, with about 30% of these being disposed of. In an attempt to reduce environmental problems, Triumph International Japan has created a new bra titled “No! Shopping Bag Bra” which can also be used as a shopping bag. When the bra is worn, the sections to be used for the bag are folded inside the cups providing additional padding for the wearer. To become a shopping bag, these sections are removed from the cups, and hooks are connected on the underwired section of the bra. Made from recycled plastic bottles, the bra can be purchased in Spring 2007 in colours of red, blue, green, yellow and pink.
