Giant clock at NTV in Tokyo

At Nippon Television Network’s headquarters (NTV) in the Shiodome district of Tokyo, one of the world’s largest mechanical figure clocks is now on display. The clock is can be seen on the second floor of their building, and was designed by popular anime director Hayao Miyazaki. Weighing 28 tons, and capable of doing 32 mechanical ‘tricks’, the clock was produced using 1,228 copper plates. The clock is based on images from Miyazaki’s film “Howl’s Moving Castle”, and NTV hope the feature will, “Stand the test of time”.
