Transformers Optimus Prime iPod dock

Takara-Tomy has given the leader of the Autobots an extra transforming ability - a dock for your iPod. The Convoy iPod Docking Bay is a “fully functional iPod Docking Bay with Speakers”. It’s not out until June, but the good news is that the Big Bad Toy Store is now taking pre-orders at price of $144.99 (£75.90).

The company, who also created the Transformer iPod dock we mentioned yesterday, has introduced the Omnibot2007 i-SOBOT, dubbed the world’s smallest robot (not sure if I agree with that claim), at only 6.6″/16.5cm tall. The robot plays music, speaks simple words, moves with commands from a remote control, and can also take instructions from human voices. As the birthrate is declining in Japan, it is understood that the toy market for adults will keep expanding. The executive general manager of Takara-Tomy says, “With i-SOBOT, you can make your dreams come true - that is to control you own robot”. It is available from July for 29,800 yen ($245/£123). […]

And a lot of the ipod’s success can be tied in with the available accessories (some, absolutely brilliant). This, however, is probably one of the dumbest ideas I’ve seen.
