USB fingerprint authentication
22nd March, 2007 by stuart
Securedesign has created a little USB stick called the Finger Log-on, which allows you to replace the password system for logging onto a XP/Vista computer with a little fingerprint reader. The device has its own little processor to do a comparison check of your grubby digit with what’s stored on the database before letting you in. This sounded like a nice little add-on until I read the price - 2.8 million yen (£12,135/$23,772) for a set of 100 devices and the necessary software. Yikes! Fortunately, this is only if you want a network managed super-system. Individual units cost 8,000 yen (£35/$68) each. The Finger Log-on is release today! Buy one if you really want to now!

Hello, we are searching for USB drives with fingerprint authentication. We havea small application we would need to write to this drive, so would need to be able to purchase the rights to the SDK as well. Is this something we could discuss with you?
We would be talking significnt quantities, minimal at first, but growing to 20,000 units minimum after the first year.
Please contact me and advise. Thank you..
