No more carrying 2 passes and such. Actually, the Pasmo replaces the old Passnet cards that you used to be able to buy to use in all of the non-JR trains (subways, keikyu line, etc...). For most visitors to Japan who use the JR line, you can do the same thing with their SUICA card (with the cute little penguin mascot). This makes it very easy for tourists coming to Tokyo as they no longer have to either buy individual tickets trying to understand the map above the ticket machines or juggle multiple passes. Just get the SUICA (or the Pasmo), charge up some money on it (the SUICA card machines can switch to English), and then as long as you keep an eye on how much you have left, you can waltz through the gates without worry. Oh, and the SUICA and I also believe the Pasmo can be used in Osaka as well but once you leave Osaka, it's a different system (I think...someone else might be able to back me up on this) The pink robot reminds me of Bomberman...
